Volume 5, Issue 3, February 21, 2010

Vice President Emily S. brought the meeting to order shortly after 3:00 with introductions and "What are you working on?" Members were working on afghans, baby hats, scarves, socks, sweaters, 'mug rugs', charity projects, prayer shawls, helmet liners, cowls, and even a SWATCH!

Executive Reports

Secretary Melissa R. submitted the previous month's minutes. The Board and membership offered thanks for the job done. I have been more than happy to serve the Guild and now hope to work as a regular member to further the goals of the membership. Joyce will now take over as Secretary at the March meeting.

Treasurer Judy B. was unable to attend; however, a guesstimate of some $1200.00 was settled upon as close to the last report.

Committee Reports

Charity knitting was explained to the newcomers by V.P. Emily S.

The Guild Library was explained by Guild Librarian Bethany.

Group Moderator and newly elected Secretary Joyce explained the Yahoo group to the newcomers as well.

Old Business

Elections of Secretary and President of the Guild consisted of Joyce and Lisa L. accepting their new posts by acclamation.

New Business

V.P. Emily S. reminded the membership that there will be a swap meet at the March meeting. Additionally, the Guild needs volunteers to present the educational program in March, Fair Isle Knitting. Jessica G. was drafted to present Toe Up Socks (Step One) in May.

Keela M. taught a session on how to knit using the Magic Loop method. She kindly gave out instructions for a cute baby hat in addition to the basic Magic Loop instructions.

The next meeting will be March 21, at the Belle Isle Library, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. See you there! And remember, clean out that stash for the swap meet!
